When Should You Speak to a Modern Matron?

1. The Staff Nurse: The first person to speak with regarding immediate needs.

2. The Ward Manager (Sister/Charge Nurse): The most senior nurse dedicated to that specific ward. You should approach them first for most complaints.

3. The Modern Matron: If the Ward Manager is unavailable, or if you have a serious concern regarding safety, hygiene, or clinical conduct that hasn’t been resolved, you should ask to see the Modern Matron.
