ACP: Advanced Clinical Practitioner

What is an ACP (Advanced Clinical Practitioner)?

A highly skilled, Master’s-level trained registered healthcare professional (often previously a nurse, paramedic, or pharmacist) who has expanded their scope to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients across various settings.

They work alongside doctors with greater autonomy and complex decision-making, focusing on the four pillars of practice: clinical, leadership, education, and research.

Like doctors, they interpret investigations (e.g. blood tests and xrays) and prescribe medication.
