What was the audit commission?
The Audit Commission was an independent public corporation that existed between 1 April 1983 and 31 March 2015.
It was replaced by Public Sector Audit Appointments Ltd, National Audit Office, Financial Reporting Council and Cabinet Office in April 2015.
