Will I need a COVID vaccine to travel?

This article will discuss travel restrictions in place related to the COVID-19 vaccine.

It is recommended that individuals are vaccinated against relevant infectious diseases prior to travel including COVID-19. Why? There is good evidence that COVID-19 vaccinations reduce the severity of symptoms and likelihood of needing hospital or intensive care. There is also evidence that it reduces transmission to contacts.

Most countries however, have eased entry requirements regarding the COVID-19 vaccination. Entry requirements are dynamic and based on myriad factors, including incidence of disease and capacity of the health care system.

Europe

Most European countries no longer require COVID-19 passports or testing to enter.

International

Similar to Europe, most countries no longer require COVID-19 passports or testing to enter. But there are a range of rules in different countries.

For example, international passengers over the age of 5 year arriving into Bolivia, will require a vaccination certificate, a PCR test up to 72 hours prior to flying or a negative antigen test up to 48 hours before flying.

Travellers to Indonesia may not require proof of COVID-19. Those who become symptomatic or test positive whilst in the country are required to isolate for 5-10 days depending on follow-up PCR testing.
