What are red wine health benefits? Many people think a glass of red wine a day is good for you. Is this true?

There is some evidence that a glass of red wine a day (averaged over the week) is good for you – or at least will do you no harm.

But not for everyone. Smallish amounts of alcohol may help prevent heart disease, and lower the odds of stroke and diabetes. But heavy drinking leads to liver cirrhosis, brain and heart damage – plus breast, colon, and other cancers.

If you don’t drink, it’s best not to start.

What is the recommended daily limit for alcohol?
If you do drink, limit yourself to no more than 2 units a day. It’s recommended to drink no more than 14 units of alcohol a week, spread across 3 days or more. That’s around 6 medium (175ml) glasses of wine, or 6 pints of 4% beer.

There’s no completely safe level of drinking. But sticking within these guidelines lowers your risk of alcohol affecting your health.

So. What are red wine health benefits?
A smallish amount or red wine may have health benefits but drink in moderation.
